To Whom It May Concern: The hot new release from Lisa Marie Presley
I have to admit that it isn't very often that I buy an album by a female artist. I was drawn to this CD because of curiosity, to see if Lisa had her daddy's vocal chops. I admired Elvis as a performer and as you can tell I have purchased most of his boxed sets.
The first time I listened to this in the car I wasn't that impressed. But then I put on headphones (at work) and it blew me away. Lisa Marie is a very sultry, sexy singer and I am also very impressed at the song writing quality which she shares with some other people. The musical arrangements are superb. It is not very often that I find an album that I can listen to from start to finish and kind of sad when the last song is over.
I happened to see the video for the single "Lights Out" when we stayed in Bend, OR at the Holiday Inn Express, on of all stations CMT. After listening to this disc with headphones, I cannot for the life of me understand why it would be labeled as country. This album kicks ass in a rock & roll / rhythm & blues style!
This is the first "new music" from a "new artist" that has captured my interest in many many years. I highly recommend it, but listen to it the first time with headphones! Five Stars!
