Elton John
From 1969 to 1976, Elton John released a body of work that meant a lot to me when I was growing up.  I can still remember talking my mom into buying the double-album "Goodbye Yellowbrick Road" when it came out.  One day when I was listening to the song "Sweet Painted Lady" my mom freaked out and said she didn't think I should be listening to such lyrics.  Compared to today, those lyrics are very tame.  I can't even understand the stuff my kids are into these days.

I now have all of these songs converted to MP3 and have been listening to them quite often.  I had almost forgotten how much good music was released in that short time frame.  During the '70's it was not uncommon for bands to release two albums in a 12 month period.  Including some tracks from the Rare Masters 2-cd set, I have 127 Elton John MP3's.

As you can see from the 6 bands/artists I have dedicated special pages to, I have a very wide range of music tastes.
